Strategic Alliances
Effective financial planning can sometimes require a team of experts
working together to serve your best interests. In such situations, we are the quarterback who
makes sure everyone is working together to achieve the best possible results. If you have
existing team members you trust, such as your CPA or attorney, we are happy to work with them,
and we can also bring in our subject-matter experts as needed. Some of our strategic alliances
are detailed below.
Through Eagle Strategies, Nadeem S. Salem, J.D., ChFC® can provide fee-based
financial planning, investment advisory services, and access to investment management
programs. Eagle Strategies LLC is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission
as an “Investment Adviser” and is an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary of New York Life
Insurance Company.
Nadeem S. Salem, J.D., ChFC® and his fellow financial professionals are
proud to be affiliated with New York Life Insurance Company. New York Life and its
wholly owned subsidiaries provide life insurance, fixed annuities, and long-term care
insurance. A mutual insurance company, New York Life is one of the largest mutual life
insurance companies in the United States, and holds the highest financial strength
ratings currently awarded to any U.S. life insurer from all four of the major credit
rating agencies: A.M. Best (A++), Fitch (AAA), Moody's Investor Service (Aaa), and
Standard & Poor's (AA+). (Source: Third-Party Ratings Reports as of 10/18/22.)
The Advanced Planning Group collectively leverages years of practical experience and
disciplines in law, accounting, and financial services, in order to provide New York
Life agents with unparalleled assistance in estate, business, and life insurance
planning. Because the Advanced Planning Group supports agents who have a nationwide
clientele, the group has insight consulting on estate and business plans at all levels
of wealth across all 50 states. The Advanced Planning Group is called to action to
advise on hundreds of business and estate plans each year; and that means Nadeem S.
Salem, J.D., ChFC® can bring experience, value, and insight to your
situation. The Advanced Planning Group does not provide specific legal, tax, or
accounting advice. Consult with your own advisors for legal, tax and accounting advice.
*The Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), The Premier Association of
Financial Professionals, is recognized globally as the standard of excellence for life insurance
sales performance in the insurance and financial services industry.
Council is an annual company recognition program based on agent production from July 1 - June

Nadeem Salem has been a financial advisor since 1983. He concentrates his practice on
wealth preservation planning, with an emphasis on wealth accumulation, retirement
distribution planning, and investment management. He works primarily with business
owners, retiring professionals, and other high-net-worth individuals. Nadeem’s focus
since establishing Salem Financial Group is to create Sharia based investing for a
growing and affluent Muslim clientele.
Nadeem established his practice in financial services directly upon graduation from The
University of Toledo in 1982. He oriented his practice around business owners during the
following eight years. In 1991 he decided to enter law school, based primarily on the
emphasis he had in place on estate planning for his clients. He became licensed to
practice law in the state of Ohio in May 1996, although he currently does not engage in
the practice of law.
Nadeem’s special interest in making sure young people have a head start in their
personal, professional, and financial lives, led him to establish “The Financial
Foundation for the Future” program. Nadeem is confident that this program will prepare
young people for the future by allowing them to work closely with a personal coach to
deal with issues important to them as well as their parents.
Nadeem graduated from the University of Toledo in 1982 and from the University of
Toledo School of Law in December 1995.
Nadeem has served as president of the Greater Toledo Association of Arab Americans
(GTAAA); President of the Northwest Ohio American Arab Chamber of Commerce, legal
advisor for the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo and has served as a member of the board
of the Toledo Area Planned Giving Council. He is a member and past chairman of the St.
Charles Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees. He is also the past chairman of the board
of the Toledo Lucas County Port Authority. Nadeem is married to Nada and they have three
children, Adam, Samantha, and Noah.
Nada and I are raising three great kids. Or should I say, they’re raising us? Samantha
and Adam are the twins who are nothing alike and Noah is the baby of the family who
never misses an opportunity to remind us of that.
I made the unfortunate decision years ago to be a fan of Detroit sports. Needless to
say, I graduate from yelling at the T.V. to cowering in a corner when the Lions
play, waiting for the disappointment, which tends to come quickly.
Being a proud American and equally proud of my Lebanese heritage, I have two favorite
foods. As an American, Pizza does it (sorry Italy). One is not a true Lebanese unless
you can crave a good Knafe’…Look it up.
I love all kinds of books, but I keep going to “The Prophet” by Khalil Gibran for
motivation, life lessons and quotes to use in talks so that I can look smart. From
a finance perspective, the best short read written and a time-tested winner is “The
Richest Man In Babylon.”
Sadly, I am news junkie and watch and read and sometimes debate. When I think I overdid
it, I cower in the corner watching the Detroit Lions, eating Knafe’ and reading Gibran
for words of wisdom such as “don’t discuss politics and religion.” Those words aren’t
there but they should be.
Since 2019, Jessica has been an integral part of the Salem Financial Group office. She ensures that our clients receive excellent customer service and their questions and concerns are addressed. Jessica received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Toledo and volunteered her time as a therapy dog handler visiting adult and youth groups in inpatient care facilities prior to joining our team.
Meet Jessi! In her spare time, Jessi enjoys walking her dog and hanging out by the pool
to soak up whatever Ohio sunshine she can! Her favorite binge-worthy series of all time
is Golden Girls; a real classic in her eyes, and it pairs perfectly with a big bowl of
popcorn and a bag of Peanut M & Ms. Her weekly ritual is to get tacos with family and
friends at their favorite local spot. Jessi would love to travel to Italy one day and
explore the Mediterranean.
Maddie Kinnee is the newest addition to Salem Financial Group, joining the office in
July of 2023. Working as our Client Services Coordinator, she ensures our clients are
receiving quick, efficient, and thoughtful service.
Maddie attended The University of Bowling Green for Sales and Marketing and spent the
last eight years working as a retail manager at The Men’s Wearhouse, priding herself on
ensuring grooms and business professionals look and feel their best on their important
days.
When not working in the office Maddie enjoys spending her free-time traveling to see
her closest friends across the country; her trip to Colorado is her favorite annual
tradition to look forward to.
She is an avid GoldenDoodle lover- she has two girls of her own named Daisy and Belve
and would have a house FULL of them if given the chance. When Ohio weather is in
cooperation she loves taking them out to burn off their doodle energy!
Maddie feels lucky enough to have all of her family in town and enjoys weekends spent
with them, enjoying their favorite home cooked meals.
